Important
note: Headset/Audio Adapters

So make sure you order the correct one for your PDA. There
are also many XDA clones. To identify your version: XDA1
has an antenna as pictured below. XDA2
has no antenna, XDA3 has
no antenna and has a sliding keyboard.

Do not be deceived by the distance of the microphone it is surprisingly loud/clear
except in very noisy environment. Retracts to less than 10cm and extends to about
85cm .
With the tie clip supplied you can clip it anywhere convenient on your clothing
whether you are using it (extended) or not (retracted). There is no tangling of
wire when you put it into a pocket and fits into a very tiny packet which
reduces the chance of damage that usually happens to phone handsfree.
2.5mm
universal headset adapter for phone use (for XDA
1 only-not compatible with XDA2) With
this adapter you can use your own universal headset (for phone) that has a 2.5mm
plug, including many Bluetooth and wireless headsets. 2.5mm
headset originated from Motorola phones which does not support on/off button (except
most recent models). Therefore many of the 2.5mm universal headset are without
on/off buttons. As
far as we know only some Samsung phones using 2.5mm universal headset support
on/off switch and this with our XDA headset adapter does support the answer/mute
function on the XDA. The
universal headset adapter is intended for use with basic function of listen/talk.
As for BT universal headset, our understanding
is that the on/off function is controlled by the BT headset software itself, if
it is capable of that. If not then on/off/mute function will not work.

Do not attempt to try IPAQ38xx cable on XDA or vice versa. Because the pin assignments
are completely different. Damage to the PDA will result especially if you
connect any power cable.
FAQ:
Do
you know (or guarantee) that the serial interface (PXSM) will work with my serial
device (e.g. GPS)? Serial
devices may be standard or non-standard. We do not know or guarantee it will work
for some devices that we have not tested. PXSM
replaces the need to use a serial sync cable PLUS
null modem adapter. You can ask your supplier
that whether it will work with serial sync cable
+ null modem adapter and you should be able to
get yes or no answer. If the answer is yes, then PXSM
will work.
Do
serial interface (PXSM)
work with all external modems? They
work with all Hayes compatible external modems without any additional driver.
Some may need CE driver or specific initialization strings (consult your modem
supplier). As most modems are equipped with 25-pin(F) connection, you require
25M>9F modem adapter (25M>9F cable preferred) which may be included with many
modems.
Can
I have a longer USB Sync cable? Almost
all our customers prefer a shorter/lighter cable to carry around. As most are
using laptop or desktop with front USB connection or hub, a shorter cable is usually
preferred. If you do need a longer cable to connect to the back of your desktop,
you can buy an USB extension cable with various lengths which is easily
available from most computer shops for no more than a few dollars.
