Copy
PCMPTU2S.CAB into My
Document folder of your PPC.
Tap
on it then the driver is installed and the file PCMPTU2S.CAB is deleted automatically.
Now
do a SOFT RESET
for driver to take effect.
You
should now have a serial port in your PPC (with PTU2S
connected, that is), occupying Com 1 (e.g. e740). So you can configure your software
to use com 1, which is the default of most software. You may see that you still
have a Hayes Compatible Modem in com 1 (it is there before the driver was
installed), this is normal and there should be no conflicts.
Different com ports may be installed
in different PPC e740
may have it installed on com 1 e755
may have it installed on com 2. When
you configure your software, see what com port is available and try different
one if you are not sure.
If you intend to connect
mobile phone (through the mobile phone serial cable) you may need modem driver
appropriate to your phone (consult your phone/cable supplier). Different phones
may also require different configurations so please consult your phone/cable supplier
for technical assistance as we will be unable to help simply we do not have the
hardware set up ourselves.
