Sony PSP-1000 (aka PHAT

Sony produced a GPS-290 for PSP but
with limited software supported mainly for Japan only. Thanks
to the availability of MapThis
mapping software (free) and GMDL
map downloading software (free) PSP owners from most parts of the world can connect
to other handheld/serial GPS for navigation through PSP. See

PSP-300 There is a cable length limit for any
USB device/software. We do not guarantee it will work with your intended device/software.
We test the cable with Go Cam PSP-300 with
PSP system software and it works. That is the only one we can guarantee. We tested
a 10 metres cable and it would not work. A combination of PSPUE2+PSPUE5
also would not work. Therfore
5 metres is probably the limit. We did not
test it with PSP-290 GPS and would not advise
using the GPS with such long cable. Limited

You need to use original Sony Remote Controller PSP-140.
After market and non Sony remote are highly unlikely to work as they do not have
the microphone pin connected in the jack. Fake remote controller also do not have
the microphone pin. All our adapters are fully tested and unlikely to be faulty.

FAQ: Before you ask
any question, please bear in mind that all cables are tested and working before
shipment and are unlikely to develope any faults. If you are unable to make
it work it is likely that you have configured your software and/or GPS incorrectly.
We are unable to help you if you have software problem. We do not have all the
GPS to test and it is possible that some GPS are not compatible when others work
with the same cable. At time of writing there are 2 versions of MapThis
software: 1. for Holux GPSlim 236/240/M1000
2. Serial/handheld GPS listed above, 3.
for Sony GPS-290. The first 2 versions are basically the same except that
1 is configured for 38400 baud and 2 for
4800 baud. This may be combined in future to be configurable within the program.
For handheld GPS, make sure you configure the GPS to output NMEA at 4800 baud.
Important: Always
connect the GPS before
starting MapThis.
If your GPS is getting position lock and MapThis
does not seem to show the position in GPS mode, exitMapThis
and start it again.
