Generic Cables
Generic is something that is general, common, or inclusive rather than specific, unique, selective, special, dedicated, or exclusive.
Many specific parts/cables for many PC/PDA/PHONE are really generic parts, or rather, many such devices CAN use the same parts/cables.
If you cannot obtain a special part/cable for your device from your manufacturer, you may be able to find it here.
COMMON parts in this page, unless stated are:
USB A - 4-pin male (as with all common USB cables), 4-pin female (USB port)
MINI USB B - 5-pin male (common mini-USB cable end) and female (port in card readers, cameras etc)
MINI USB A - 5-pin male (specially shaped connector and wried differently from mini USB B, found commonly in OTB (on the go) harddisk data banks), and female (port in OTB)
DC connector - 4.0/1.7 (outer/inner diameter in mm of connector with centre positive and outer negative). PSP and many PDAs use this connector for power in AC chargers (meaning you can use PSP charger for those PDAs and vice versa).
