Note: connection
for S45AA is 2.5mm jack, 3.5mm jack (with S2F3M) or 3.5mm plug (with S3M2M).
Depending on the input of your car hi-hi, you may need other adapter/cable which
you should be able to buy from your local hi-fi shop. (for Hi-Fi with RCA inputs,
you should get a 3.5mm jack to 2 RCA adapter cable 0.5-1 metre long +
S3M2M)
If your
car Hi-Fi has auxiliary audio input (particularly 3.5mm jack), it is very straight
forward and easy and you can listen to MP3 music played from your SL45.
Car handsfree
kits are expensive and difficult to install. With S45AA connecting to you car
Hi-Fi you have effectively a better car handsfree costing much less. Music will
stop when there is incoming call for you to answer. Voice commands (voice dials)
function normally through microphone as with original handsfree.
As speech
is coming out from your hi-fi speakers from both sides, other party (caller)
may hear his/her own echo. Therefore you should experiment the best place to
put your microphone and the optimum speaker volume settings.
Even
if it has no direct input, there is usually a way to connect it (consult your
car hi-fi specialist).
If it
is not possible to connect directly to your car Hi-Fi, there may be other ways
to connect:
1. Cassette
adapter - play through car cassette Hi-Fi. (can be bought from car accessory
shop)
2. Active
speakers - External amplified speakers that can be powered in car (use cigarette
lighter to multi voltage connectors, which should cost less than $10), most
computer speakers will do.
But
sound quality will not be as good if not directly connected to Hi-Fi input.
