All batteries are made in China with Grade A cells and are guaranteed for six months (replacement) against manufacturing and material defects.
No individual
instruction will be supplied with the batteries, this applies to all batteries:
1. Charge
initially for 12-16 hours before first use.
2. Charge
only in specific charger for the phone/battery.
You will not be disappointed.
Batteries FAQ
Do you sell batteries for other phones?
We make these batteries available for our customers who intended to
buy our cables so our customers save more without having to pay more postage.
Also we have the phones to test the batteries thoroughly before we chose
the manufacturer. As we have not tested other batteries, we ARE NOT
selling batteries for other phones.
Why do you sell the batteries so cheap?
1. We buy directly from factories in bulk so cost is lower.
2. Our batteries are made with grade A chinese batteries which cost
less than Japanese batteries.
3. We do not send in useless packaging which cuts down in cost.
4. We keep our margins low.
What are differences between good and bad
batteries?
It depends on what cells they are made of. Batteries made in China
(most batteries now on sale worldwide are made in China, even the originals)
are generally made with Japanese grade A or B cells, or Chinese grade
A or B cells. Grade A are genuine brand new cells, while grade B are rejects/refurbished
cells. Japanese cells generally cost higher than Chinese cells.
Japanese cells generally have longer life (150-200 charges, or 18-24
months), while Chinese cells are good for 100-150 charges (12-18 months)
before capacity falls noticeably. Grade B cells have far shorter life and
lower capacity. Many cheap batteries are made with grade B cells.
Why do you sell Chinese cells instead of
Japanese ones?
We call it battery economics. We
have been testing batteries for many months and decide to go for lower
cost solution.
1. Initially, there is no noticeable performance difference between
Japanese and Chinese batteries. The two types with same capacity still
last the same time in same conditions. It is the latter part of the battery
life that makes the difference. As Chinese batteries still hold good charge
for around 100 charges, that is about a year if you charge it twice a week
(if you have 1 or 2 spare batteries, you are unlikely to charge each more
than once a week)
2. A spare battery is a spare battery. It does not matter whether it
lasts for 2 days or 5 days but it is the need to carry a spare battery
for many people. If the cost is lower, the better.
3. On average, people change phones every 9-12 months, a spare battery
adds very little resale value to the phone so it is wise to cut down the
initial cost while sacrificing little in battery performance compared to
buying more expensive ones.
Can you distinguish between Japanese and
Chinese cells?
Hardly. Most cells supplied to make phone batteries have no markings
or labels (Japanese, Chinese or otherwise) so one cannot tell by looking
at it (even after disassembling it). You have to trust your supplier (and
supplier to trust the manufacturer, and so on) who say what they are.
What is the difference between Li-ion and
Ni-MH batteries?
Cost, weight and battery life.
Li-ion is lighter but costs much higher. Performance for both is the
same with the same capacity. You can still charge Ni-MH batteries without
discharging it first, as you would charge Li-ion batteries. Though Ni-MH
batteries may benefit from total discharge (let it run flat in the phone)
between every 5-10 charges to keep the battery in full capacity.
Ni-MH batteries deteriorate faster nearer to the end of the battery
life, so in effect, Li-ion batteries last longer (allow more charges).
My battery only lasts 1-2 days standby,
is it faulty?
Battery performance can be affected by many reasons.
1. Network - if you are in an area with poor signal, the phone consumes
more power trying to keep connected.
2. Traveling - if you are moving in and out of phone coverage area,
the same applies as above.
3. Charger used - charging may have stopped before it reaches full
capacity.
4. Sim card - some sim card uses 5v while most recent ones use 3v.
5v sim card used in a phone which supposes to use 3v sim consumes the battery
in no time. If you are transferring another sim card to a new phone and
the standby time seems unreasonably short, this may be the reason and you
should contact your network operator for solution.
5. Performance - Phone in Enhanced Full Rate mode uses more power than
ordinary mode.
Therefore, the optimum performance of battery can be achieved if you
are in a strong signal area, do not move the phone, and do not make any
call !!
So if you suspect a dud battery, compare it with another good one in
the same condition (same phone, network, sim, and usage conditions).
Can you distinguish between Li-ion and Ni-MH
batteries?
Again, not by looking at it. See advance technical
information. For Nokia phones, there is a simple/practical test if
you have netmonitor enabled. in test 23, which is for charging and battery
state, the temperature of the battery is shown at the left bottom corner
IF it is Li-ion battery (so the value should be between 20-30). Temperature
of Ni-MH battery cannot be shown so it is always zero.
Fake batteries
There are a lot of fake batteries around. Fake
batteries means those pretending to be originals and sold as such.
(Not OEM, like ours, or other brands).
This is very common in countries of less awareness of intellectual
properties. But there are more now even in developed countries like western
Europe. As resellers are now buying from many sources at lower and lower
prices. Many suppliers are unreliable. Some shops sell fake batteries deliberately,
some sell fake batteries unknowingly, believing they bought genuine batteries
while they have been supplied fake ones.
This is the rule - genuine original batteries
are expensive. If you are getting batteries cheap, you either
know what you are buying or you are taking your chance.
